Political parties

Was contemplating the virtues/faults of two-party system versus multi-party coalition governments. Happened to visit wikipedia, saw:

His warning about political parties was right on and has unfortunately come to pass.

In theory, many small parties produce a moderate position, but it often depends on how fractured the electorate is. If there are too many parties, forming the coalition often gives too much influence to small groups, such the Orthodox & Right Wing in Israel. Fewer but larger (tho still minority) groups may cooperate more effectively as they do in some European countries.

Since both or parties have sold out, maybe it’s time for us to scrap the two-party system – if we can just get over the hurdle of ‘tradition’.
