Of the great cello performances of this two minute Bach cello solo prelude , which of these two performances I love do you rate as “the best” ?
1. Rostropovich plays the Prelude from Bach’s Cello Suite No. 1 (2 minutes)
2.Yo-Yo Ma plays the same piece:
(stop after the first of Yo-yo Ma’s)
Hard for me to choose , I love Rostropovich’s attack at the beginning but give it to Yo-yo Ma for the last thirty seconds of unbelievable polyphony.

Some of you jazz aficionados may have better knowledge…, but us old hippies and classic rockers roll this way. The sax solo starts at about 3:55 into the Springsteen’s “Jungleland” song and ends at about 6:15…, but you will probably want to listen to the whole thing anyway. Cheers.
