Songs from Civil War, WW I & II were mostly about parting & reuniting, love and hope.
‘Nam had a different flavor entirely and Korea seemed to be ignored.

A lot of WW II songs are nostalgic for me, as they were for the troops.
There were songs of the Civil War, WW I & WW II but none since then. What does that say?
I lived in Paris for a year when I was younger. I’ve never really liked this song, maybe because it’s painfully sentimental, but it sure nails nostalgia.
